PURPOSE:To measure moisture in mist, by measuring the increment of the weight of water taken from the mist to be measured. CONSTITUTION:An endless thread 4 which is made of, for example, stainless steel and has water unabsorbing properties is fed between reels 2 and 3 of a box body 1 and a part of the thread 4 is exposed to a misty atmosphere to be measured. The mist to be measured is directed to the thread 4 by means of a wind tunnel 5 and the thread 4, to which mist water attaches in accordance with the quantity of the mist, the thickness of the thread 4, and the length of the thread 4, is sent from the reel 3 to the reel 2 through the clearance between a wedge 6 and a water catcher 7. Then the water adhering to the thread 4 is taken into the water catcher 7. The water catcher 7 is provided with a water leading hole at the top section and a container at the bottom section and filled with glass fibers. A water discharge pipe connected with a pump 8 is installed to the lower section of the container. The water catcher 7 is placed on the table 9 of a weight measuring device and the weight increment of the collected water stored in the container is measured on a time base and the mist quantity is accurately measured from a prescribed expression by means of an arithmetic circuit. |
