PURPOSE:To obtain a non-heat treatment type free-cutting Al alloy by adding specified amounts of Si, Fe, Cu, Mg, Zr, Pb and Sn or Bi and Sn to Al. CONSTITUTION:The composition of an Al alloy ingot is composed of, by weight, 0.3-1% Si, 0.1-1% Fe, 0.1-0.5% Cu, 2-5% Mg, 0.05-0.2% Zr, 0.5-2.5% in total of Pb and Sn or 0.5-2.5% in total of Pb, Bi and Sn, and the balance Al with inevitable impurities. The alloy ingot is homogenized, extruded, and cold worked at <=20% working rate.
