Appts. is claimed to control the stitch and yarn guide unit in a circular knitting machine having cam rings to support cam holders. A knitting needle controls the cams and supports the yarn carrier ring support. The yarn guide unit is supported with the yarn carrier support through the yarn carrier rings. The novelty is that cam ring is divided into inner and outer cam ring elements coupled through guides. The yarn carrier ring support and cam holder are laid on the inner cam rings element. A lift is provided to allow only the inner cam ring element to move up and down separately.
