PURPOSE:A detecting agent having a fixed content of hydrogen peroxide, consisting of a hydrogen peroxide-containing aqueous solution and an aqueous solution containing cloudiness enhancer, wherein anyone can detect degree of contamination with microorganisms easily and rapidly. CONSTITUTION:A detecting agent consisting of a hydrogen peroxide-containing aqueous solution and an aqueous solution containing a cloudiness enhancer, having 0.2-5wt% hydrogen peroxide content based on the whole amount of the solution. The cloudiness enhancer is a foaming agent and/or a foam stabilizer, a substance capable of making oxygen which is evolved during enzymatic decomposition of hydrogen peroxide with catalase derived from microorganisms into easily distinguishable cloud foam bulk. A nonionic surface active agent, cationic surface active agent, etc. may be used as the foaming agent, and a water-soluble protein, lauryl alcohol, etc. as the foam stabilizer. The detecting agent is used as daily goods of living environment, such as kitchen articles, supplies for toilet room, and bathroom, and a colored plastic container is preferable as a container.
