摘要 PURPOSE:To prevent an engine room size from becoming large and to avoid complexity in shaft system structure by arranging a rear propeller, driven with a reverse transmission driven with a main shaft, nearer to the stern than a front propeller driven with the main shaft. CONSTITUTION:An engine 5 drives a main shaft 10 and a front propeller 1. At the same time, power is inputted through the main shaft 10, a shaft joint ring 11 and a main shaft extension 10a into a reverse transmission 20 which, through a bevel gear train 21-23, drives a reverse output shaft 14 in the reverse direction to drive a rear propeller 2 in the direction opposite to that of the front propeller 1 to produce thrust. Since the reverse transmission 20 is installed on a support member 30a of a rubber 30, the main shaft extension 10a is supported with both shaft joint ring 11 and bearing 24, the reverse output shaft 14 is supported with both bearings 26 and 27, and the thrust produced with the rear propeller 2 is transmitted to the hull through bearings 25a and 26b, there is no technical difficulty in the bearing structure. The reverse transmission 20 can be made small in size and compact, thereby improving both power transmission performance and propeller driving performance.
