PURPOSE:To inform the talker of the length of the talk time as magnitude and to provide for a strong visual appeal for talks extending for prolonged time by providing an analog display part in a display means adapted to make a digital display of the talking time. CONSTITUTION:Time count is started when a timer flag is set by a main program nd the talking state is initiated. The second indication in a digital display part 12a is updated after lapse of each one second, while the minute indication in the digital display part 12a is updated after lapse of each minute. Simultaneously, after lapse of each minute, the dot image is displayed while the address of the analog display part 12b to be displayed is counted. As a result, the talk time is displayed in the display 12 in both the analog and digital forms. In the example shown, the talking time is 20 minutes 20 seconds. It is 20 minutes in analog display of the dot image since the display is made by units of minutes.
