PURPOSE:To enable irradiation with good efficiency by not only preventing the thermal loses respectively of the ultraviolet-ray irradiating device and a high-voltage discharge lamp, with an air vent running through a reflector body and the external part of a support member provided therein but also making uniform the surface temperature of a high-voltage discharge lamp. CONSTITUTION:In the embodiment of the present invention, the cold air taken into a frame body 4 from an air vent 27 in a support member 6 flows smoothly along the inner surface of a reflector body 2, whereby the surface temperature of the reflector body is decreased, and there occurs no vortex of air over the high-voltage discharge lamp's surface on the deepest recess side of the reflector body facing the air vent, thereby the high-voltage discharge lamp's surface is assured free from being locally overheated, and said surface on the air vent side of the reflector body is also ensured free from being cooled excessively, wherein part of the cold air taken in from the air flows along the surface of a filter 6, whereby the surface temperature of the filter can be lessened. |
