PURPOSE:To obtain the titled wire superior in tensile strength and elongation characteristic, by soln. heat treating Al-Mg alloy material having grain oriented columnar crystal structure, immediately then working it plastically to wire material of the final diameter, and annealing said wire at a specified temp. CONSTITUTION:Al-Mg base alloy material composed of columnar crystal structure orienting one direction contg. about 0.5-6wt% Mg, <=about 0.001wt% inevitable impurities respectively is soln. heat treated at about 300-580 deg.C for 15min-48hr. Next, said material is worked plastically to wire material of the final diameter at intermediate step of said working without annealing, then said wire is annealed at 100-350 deg.C range. To the Al-Mg base alloy, <=about1.0wt% Si, <=about 2.0wt% Cu can be added. In this way, extremely thin wire made of Al alloy having about 10-300mum diameter is manufactured.
