A seat adjusting mechanism for adjusting the angle of a chair seat comprises a seat support (3) pivotally attached to a lower support which, in turn, is attachable to a chair base. Locking elements are arranged between the seat support and the lower support to lock the seat support, and consequently the seat, in one of several discrete positions.
