PURPOSE:To prevent the increase of overhead by preparing a group control word list queue and segmenting a group connected to the end of the list queue in its segmentation enable state. CONSTITUTION:A bus reaching an input/output device is divided into groups G1, G2 and so on and control tables GCT1, GCT2 and so on are set opposite to those divided groups. A group is segmented from a list queue 24 in its segmentation enable state. In this case, a group '14', for example, set at the end of the queue 24 is segmented since the overhead is not required so much. Here the corresponding group is always segmented as long as it is set at the end of the queue 24. Thus no segmentation-enable group remains on the queue 24 at all times. |
