PURPOSE:To lower the overall height of a carburetor, by setting up a moving piston of a variable chock carburetor sidewise. CONSTITUTION:A moving piston 12 is set up sidewise in a suction pipe disposed in a lateral manner, while a Venturi 4 is expanded and/or contracted with the difference between suction pressure in a chamber 2 and atmospheric pressure in a chamber 3 of a diaphragm 6. A needle being installed in an end part of the moving piston 12 is inserted into a nozzle 8 to be opened to the Venturi 4, and fuel out of a chamber of a float 9 is mixed with bleed air out of an air bleed jet 5 at a mixed pipe, so that it is sucked inside the Venturi 4 from an opening of the nozzle 8 commensurate to opening of the Venturi 4. Thus, since the moving piston 12 is set up sidewise, the overall height of a carburetor is lowerable and, what is more, it is stowable in compact even inside a narrow engine room. |
