WASTE INK RECOVERY DEVICE FOR INK JET RECORDER

PURPOSE:To arrange so that waste ink may be disposed of easily and complicated sensor installation be dispensed with by linking the interior of a tank to a waste ink channel and executing the electric connection of a sensor whenever a waste ink tank is attached. CONSTITUTION:Packing 582 is used as a seal required when waste ink flowing from an ink channel 560 is conducted from a port 576 to an absorber 572 at the time of attaching a waste ink tank 570. Further, the upper edge 574A of a polar plate 574 is fitted to a contact point 584 and then is connected to a control circuit through a lead wire 586. Accordingly it is possible to detect waste ink by a sensor electrode 574B before the absorber 572 loses its absorbing capacity. In this way, the disposal of waste ink can easily be performed and complicated operation is not required for arrangement of sensors.
