PURPOSE:To instataneously realize the same color display of a whole image plane during the clear operation of the image plane by optionally selecting the data of an input side and the output side of a video RAM and providing a switch for transmitting to a display side. CONSTITUTION:According to the specification of a compact disk layer, an image plane clear operation is performed by the instruction of a preset memory (Preset MEMORY). When a preset memory instruction is detected, during the blanking period of a television signal, a switch 220 is changed over to input the data of the input side of a video RAM209 directly to a color look up table RAM210.
