The attachment is a box-shaped scoop with an angled suction tube in the top face. The scoop is closed on five sides and has an open front face. The front face has an angled lower section which ends in a sharp lip. On the inside of the top face is a grid which acts as a filter. The flexible hose from the cleaner is inserted in the angled suction tube. - The front face of the attachment is pushed into the hearth and the vacuum cleaner switched on. The light particles of ash are drawn through the grid and into the vacuum cleaner, leaving the cinders and heavier particles in the attachment.
