The invention relates to a pneumatic vehicle wheel having a rigid rim which has a radially exterior tyre support part which determines the greatest rim diameter. In order to be able to mount in a tyre with predetermined core rings a rim with the largest possible support part diameter, it is proposed that the tyre support part has at least one essentially transversely extending groove into which a tyre bead can dip.
