PURPOSE:To improve the heat sink effect of an armature core by arranging strands of the intermediate portion mounted in an armature core slot in a direction perpendicular to the slot, and disposing the strands of leads connected to a commutator in parallel with the slot. CONSTITUTION:An armature winding 10 is formed of a plurality of strip strands 2 in a hexagonal shape in such a manner that the strands 2 of the portion 11 mounted in an armature core slot are arranged in a direction perpendicular to the depthwise direction of the slot. Leads 12 connected to the risers of a commutator are disposed in a direction parallel to the depthwise direction of the slot. Thus, a plurality of strands 2 are twisted substantially at 90 deg. near the leads 12. After twisting, a ground insulator 6 is provided. Accordingly, even if the leads 12 are not pressed, they can be readily connected to the riser of the commutator to improve the heat sink effect for the armature core. |
