ELLIPTIC APERTURE CORRUGATED ANTENNA

PURPOSE:To convert the waveguide mode of an ellliptic waveguide into the mode for an elliptic corrugated balanced hydrid without mismatching by cou pling an elliptic aperture corrugated part where the depth of teeth in the thin teeth in the elliptic circumferential direction is decided so that the electric field component at the tip of the teeth in the progressing direction of electromag netic wave is nearly zero between one aperture and the elliptic waveguide. CONSTITUTION:The elliptic aperture corrugated part 7 in which several stages of thin teeth are provided to the guide wall in the elliptic circumferential direction and the depth 3 of the thin teeth is decided that the electric field component in the progressing direction 8 of an electromagnetic wave is nearly zero at the tip 1 of the thin teeth is coupled between the elliptic waveguide 6 and said one aperture of the elliptic aperture corrugated antenna 9 in which the one aperture is coupled to the elliptic waveguide 6 having a smooth guide wall, the other aperture is coupled to the antenna and the thin teeth are provided for several steps in the elliptic circumferential direction to the guide wall. Thus, the waveguide mode of the elliptic waveguide with smooth guide wall is converted into the elliptic corrugated balanced hydrid mode without mismatching.
