PURPOSE:To improve an S/N by catching alternately infrared on a knife edge surface and external one by scanning with a scanning mirror provided on the reflecting optical path of the mirror, and integrating and reproducing a detecting signal while fixing a scanning mirror that scans a focusing infrared when searching while scanning only by a gimbal. CONSTITUTION:In searching, the scanning mirror 6 is fixed and only the gimbal scans an object 1 at a low speed. The focused infrared is reflected by a scanning mirror 6, and inputted to an array detector 5 through a scanning mirror 12. The scanning mirror 12 scans alternately a knife edge surface 11 and a focused point A in the cycle of some 1ms. By this scan, every scanning element applies photoelectric conversion both the infrared signal on the knife edge surface in some 1ms cycle and the infrared signal caught from a target caught at that interval. This electrical signal is integrated by an adder 13a and is reproduced as DC by a working memory 13b based upon a signal from the knife edge and is displayed as an image. The knife edge 11 is precluded from the focused point A while tracking and fixing the scanning mirror 12 at the position where a reflected light from the scanning mirror 6 is inputted to make the mirror scan.
