PURPOSE:To detect rotational angle position correctly by installing a controlling device for presetting the count value of a counter at a specific value and a judgement device for judging the application of a basic position signal put out by a rotational angle sensor. CONSTITUTION:A counter 2 counts rotational angle position signal from a rotational angle sensor 1. A controlling device 3 presets the count value of the counter 2 at a fixed value. A judgement device 4 judges which of the first and second basic position signals is applied. Even when a top dead center signal is overlapped by noise, it is possible to judge correctly which basic position signal is applied. Thus, correct detection of the rotational angle position is ensured.
