The subject of the invention relates to the technical field of the manipulation of filiform or flat-shaped materials, for example sheets, tapes or cables. The machine comprises, in combination, a fixed frame 1 receiving a movable chassis 2 equipped with winding reels 8 which are fastened to drive members in order to be positively driven in rotation, the said support chassis 2 being mounted on the frame 1 with the possibility for limited and adjustable movement with respect to guide means 11 receiving the article to be wound, the said means being disposed facing each of the reels while being mounted on a fixed part of the machine, especially of the frame 1. One application, intended particularly, although not rigorously limiting, concerns winding with wire guiding. <IMAGE>
