PURPOSE:To provide large covering force and to prevent the exfoliation and injury of a silver halide photographic emulsion layer during developing process by incorporating the polymer expressed by formula 1 or 2 into at least one layer of said emulsion layer. CONSTITUTION:The polymer expressed by formula 1 or 2 is incorporated into the silver halide photographic emulsion layer in a silver halide photographic sensitive material having at least one layer of the silver halide photographic emulsion layer to at least one side of a base. The polymer having the repeating unit expressed by formula 1 or 2 to be added to the photographic emulsion layer is preferably of 5,000-200,000 weight average mol.wt. The amt. of such polymer to be added is selected to an optional amt. and said polymer is added to said layer preferably at 5-50wt%, more particularly preferably 30-40wt% by the weight of the total binder in the photographic emulsion. The polymer may be incorporated into any of the photographic emulsion layers and is more preferably incorporated into the entire photographic emulsion layer. |
