The invention relates to a device for recognising and detecting the direction of laser radiation by means of one or two detector elements, in which delay elements are allocated between the detector elements allocated to the various directions of view and in which a time interval measuring device for measuring the transit time of the signals is arranged for determining the direction of incidence of the laser radiation, the measured transit time representing a measure of the angle of incidence. Measures for such a device are specified which allow an adapted design depending on the application.
