PURPOSE:To prevent a frequency characteristic from being deteriorated even if the number of taps are increased by setting the time required for transferring an electric charge from the gate electrode of a tap adding part to an adjacent gate electrode longer than other cases and making the duty ratio of transfer clocks imbalanced. CONSTITUTION:The duty ratio of transfer clocks phi1 and phi2 driving a delay line with a CCD tap is made imbalanced, and the time required for transferring the electric charge to the adjacent gate electrode 16 from the gate electrode 15 of the tap adding part is longer than in other cases. In such a case, since the time of the transfer clock phi2 is shortened by 50% than a conventional duty ratio, it is decided so that the transfer efficiency in the transfer part of a main channel will not be significantly deteriorated.
