VEHICLE TRAVEL CONTROLLER

PURPOSE:To ensure the stability of travelling vehicle when the travelling condition of vehicle gets unstable by the external disturbance like side wind by automatic control to correct the deflection of travelling direction due to the external disturbance. CONSTITUTION:An auxiliary piston mechanism 22 set in a wheel cylinder 17 has a piezo electric mechanism 23 constituted from laminated piezo electric elements. A movable body 24 serving as a piston expands and contracts the piezo electric mechanism 23 to increase and decrease the volume of the wheel cylinder 17. Piezo electric elements 231, 232 constituting the piezo electric mechanism are controlled by a change-over controlling valve 21 and an engine control unit 26. When a vehicle receives side wind and deflects sidewise, a yawing rate sensor detects this condition to operate the change-over valve 21 and a brake of the opposite side wheels and change the direction of vehicle.
