The air which is to be filtered passes into the filter cartridge in the direction indicated by the arrows. The dust on the outside of the cartridge is removed by inserting it into the opening of the dust collection vessel. The edge of the opening has an elastic collar whose inside diameter is smaller than the outside diameter of the cartridge. As the cartridge is pushed into the opening, the dust is scraped off and drops into the vessel.
