PURPOSE:To provide the titled composition having excellent workability and heat-resistance, and composed of an epoxy resin, a specific acid anhydride hardener, and a 1-cyanoethyl-2-arylimidazole compound having a specific group. CONSTITUTION:The objective composition can be produced by mixing (A) an epoxy resin with (B) an acid anhydride hardener which is liquid at normal temperature and composed mainly of a steric isomer mixture obtained by heating 3-methyl-DELTA<4>-tetrahydrophthalic anhydride in the presence of an alkali metal compound, and (C) a 1-cyanoethyl-2-arylimidazole compound having one or more cyanoethoxymethyl groups at 4- and/or 5-site (e.g. 1-cyanoethyl-2- phenyl-4-cyanoethoxymethyl-imidazole) and if necessary, with a reactive diluent, plasticizer, talc, etc.
