The invention relates to a plough which is preferably designed as a double plough. Arranged one behind the other in the travel direction on the plough are several blade carriers which are equipped with shearing blades which reach into the same relief slot and are matched to one another in their depth of cut in such a way that they gradually deepen the relief slot in each of the two travel directions of the plough. A relief slot can thereby be made in the face without excessive stressing of the shearing blades.
