摘要 PURPOSE:To control an engine with a high responsiveness and to make the air-fuel ratio approachable to an stoichiometric air-fuel ratio, by calculating first and second compensating coefficients in accordance with output signals from first and second oxygen concentration detectors, and by multiplying a basic fuel injection amount by the compensating coefficients to calculate the amount of fuel injection. CONSTITUTION:A first oxygen concentration detector 21 is disposed in an exhaust passage upstream of a ternary catalyst converter 20, and a second oxygen concentration detector 21 is disposed in the exhaust passage downstream of the ternary catalyst converter 20. First and second compensating coefficient calculating means 26, 27 calculate first and second compensating coefficients in accordance with output signals from the first and second oxygen concentration detector 21, 23, respectively. Thereafter a basic fuel injection amount is multiplied by both compensating coefficients to ensure a satisfactory feedback responsiveness and as well to make the air-fuel ratio approachable to a stoichiometric air-fuel ratio.
