PURPOSE:To obtain an optical recording/reproducing device containing a loading device for cassette disc which is capable of a proper rotary driving action with use of a conventional disc, by fixing and holding a disc stored in a cassette by means of a disc driving part and a clamper part. CONSTITUTION:When a detector 5 is operated with a loading action of a cassette disc 1, the actuation of a drive mechanism 10 is stopped and the disc 1 is set at a prescribed position. Then a loading drive part 20 is actuated by a system control part 6 via a loading drive circuit 7. In other words, a chassis 21 containing a disc drive part 22 and an optical head part 23 and set under a guide plate 4 is moved upward as shown by an arrow head Y together with a lever 26 containing a clamper part 25 moved downward as shown by an arrow head Z respectively by the actuation of the part 20. Then an optical disk 2 is held at a prescribed position within the disk 1 by engagement between the part 22 and the part 25 and the revolved. Thus the information signal can be recorded and reproduced through the part 23.
