PURPOSE:To prevent keyboard lock from unlocked by a person who does not know that a key is in operation by allowing a key input detecting means to detect the depression of a pass word input key to lock the keyboard. CONSTITUTION:When the key input detection section 4 detects that the pass word input key 3 is depressed, the succeeding input of the key 2 is regarded as a pass word, and when the keyboard 1 is in unlock state, the key input is stored in a storage section 6 and other key input except a key 3 is inhibited to attain the keyboard lock state. On the other hand, in case of the keyboard lock state, the succeeding input of the key 2 is compared with the pass word stored in the storage section 6 by a coincidence detection 5, and when the both are coincident, the reception inhibiting state of the input of the key 2 is released. When the both are dissident, the keyboard lock state is continued.
