Adjustable pick-up arm of a record player

Axial eccentricity or vertical disc wobble causes undesired longitudinal movements of the pick-up in relation to the disc during pick-up from a record. This produces disturbing wow and flutter, perceptible as frequency modulation. The effect of disc wobble depends on the height of the vertical pick-up arm bearing point from the plane of the upper side of the record. If the bearing point lies in the plane, the disc wobble has virtually no longer any effect as wow and flutter. The invention was based on the object of finding a solution for different overall heights of pick-up systems in which the bearing point should be in the said plane. The solution is a height-adjusting device either in the pick-up arm base above the bearing point at the connecting point between pick-up arm and upper part of the base or at the connecting point between pick-up arm head and pick-up arm.
