PURPOSE:To produce the titled compound useful as a vasodilator, in high yield and purity, economically on an industrial scale, with simple apparatus, by reacting a 1,4-dihydropyridine-3,5-dicarboxylic acid ester derivative with a halogenosulfonyl compound. CONSTITUTION:The objective 1,4-dihydropyridine-3,5-dicarboxylic acid ester derivative of formula V can be produced by reacting the 1,4-dihydropyridine-3,5- dicarboxylic acid ester derivative of formula I (R<1>-R<3> are lower alkyl) with the halogenosulfonyl compound of formula II [R<4> is lower alkyl or (substituted) phenyl; X is halogen], and reacting the resultant sulfonyloxy derivative of formula III with the amine of formula IV [R<5> and R<6> are H, lower alkyl, (substituted) phenyl, (substituted) aralkyl, etc.]. The process can be carried out economically without using column chromatography, etc.
