摘要 PURPOSE:To prevent titanium trichloride from air oxidation and to titrate exactly a ferric ion, etc. by disposing a titanium trichloride titrating soln. in a non-oxidative gaseous atmosphere, maintaining a ferric ion liquid, etc. at specific pH or below and titrating said liquid. CONSTITUTION:A hermetic case 5 is made of a transparent acrylic resin, etc. and a titanium trichloride titrating soln. tank 6 and an automatic titrating device 7 are disposed therein. A non-oxidative gas, for example, nitrogen or the like is fed from a cylinder 1 to the case 5 to preserve the titanium trichloride soln. in the non-oxidative gaseous atmosphere. A measuring cell 18 is provided to the outside of the case 5 and a ferric ion sample is put therein. The titanium trichloride titrating soln. in the case 5 is introduced through a pipe 14 into the cell and is titrated by a platinum electrode 16. The sample liquid is maintained at <=2.0pH in this stage and the nitrogen is sealed into the atmosphere gas. The exposure of the titanium trichloride titrating soln. to the air is prevented in the above-mentioned manner and therefore Ti<3+> is not converted to Ti<4+> and the exact analysis of the ferric ion, cupric ion, etc. is made possible.
