PURPOSE:To facilitate the designing of circuit package and to make shading corrections of each picture element by performing shading correction processing by digital signal processing. CONSTITUTION:When image input processing is started, an image input optical signal (b) of every line is inputted and converted an optical sensor circuit 2 into an image input analog signal (c), which is converted by an A/D converter 3 into an image digital signal (d) of each picture element. While this converted signal is inputted as the low-order digit address to a shading corrected value storage circuit 5, the full white value of the same picture element address with the input image signal stored before the start of the image input processing is read out of a full white value storage circuit 4 and inputted as the high-order digit address of the shading corrected value storage circuit 5. The voltage ratio of the full white signal is read out as a relative value signal (f) and a slice level digital signal (g) is inputted to an (n)-value decision circuit 7 to decide on an (n) value, thereby outputting an (n)-value signal (h).
