The invention relates to novel palladium complexes of the formulae: <IMAGE> (I) <IMAGE> (II) <IMAGE> (III) <IMAGE> (IV) <IMAGE> (V) <IMAGE> (VI) wherein: n is 0 or 1, R1, R2, R3, R4 are lower alkyl groups, fluoro substituted lower alkyl groups, or (lower) alkyl, or <IMAGE> X is a monovalent anionic ligand, and Z is O, S, P or NR1, and anti-tumor pharmaceutical compositions and therapeutic methods of treating tumors employing the palladium complexes.
