(4R,5R)-1,4,5,6-tetrahydro 5-hydroxy 4-((E)-(3S)-3-hydroxy 1-octenyl)1-phenylcyclopenta (b)-pyrrolo-valeric acid is made by reacting a cpd. of formula (I) with a cpd. of formula (II) in which Ph is phenyl, under Wittig reaction conditions. The required prod. is isolated by conventional methods, esp.liquid chromatography.
