PURPOSE:To prevent the succulent growth of tulip, surely and easily with a small amount of agent, by dipping the bulb of tulip in an aqueous solution of (E)-1-(4-chlorophenyl)-4,4-dimethyl-2-(1,2,4-triazol-1-yl)--1-penten-3 -ol. CONSTITUTION:In the case of the culture of tulip on a flower-bed or in a pot, the peduncle is liable to cause the succulent growth by the hot weather in early spring resulting in the droop of the flower. The succulent growth of tulip can be prevented by dipping the bulb of tulip in an aqueous solution of (E)-1-(4- chlorophenyl)-4,4-dimethyl-2-(1,2,4-triazol-1-yl)--1-penten-3-ol (1-500 ppm, preferably about 5-100 ppm concentration). A high-quality tulip having thick and rubust peduncle can be cultured by this process.
