PURPOSE:To eliminate an influence to a screen even when an essential accumulating time is short by transferring part of the signals of a photodetecting part to a buffer part which can be vertically transferred to one line or above installed between the photodetecting part and the accumulating part, while the signal of the accumulating part is read. CONSTITUTION:A photodetecting part 2 of a frame transfer type CCD responds an incident light, generates an electric signal, namely, a charge and accumulates this. A memory part 3 fetches a charge which is generated and accumulated at a photodetecting part 2, and stored temporarily. A horizontal register part 4 reads successively the charge stored at a memory part 3 for one line each. An output amplifier part 5 converts the charge installed at an output side of the horizontal register part 4 to a voltage. Between the photodetecting part 2 and the memory part 3, a buffer part 211 composed of a picture element for at least one line is installed and the signal of the accumulating part is read, and then, at least part of the signals of the photodetecting part is transferred to the buffer part 211.
