Delayed action assembly for release of active ingredient comprises (1) a non-biodegradable container; (2) a unit does of dispersible active ingredient in the container; (3) a non-biodegradable, removable cover, closing the container and (4) a controllable device for removing the closure so as to disperse the unit dose. Pref. the closure covers an opening in the container and can be removed by pressure generated within the container. This pressure is generated by a chemical squib, activated electrically.
