PURPOSE:To obtain a uniform paint film having a mica hue containing dark coloration, by using a color paint in a first layer, a paint containing mica pigment in a second layer and a clear paint in a third layer and painting the second layer by a rotary atomizing electrostatic painting machine set to the specific number of rotations. CONSTITUTION:For example, in a car to which under coat, intermediate coat and top coat were applied, the following three layer are applied to the under coat electrodeposition paint layer. That is, a first layer paint being a color paint is applied in a diluted form so as to set the film thickness after baking to 10-50mum and baked. Subsequently, a second paint containing mica pigment is applied in a film thickness after baking of 10-30mum. In this case, if the second layer is formed by a rotary atomizing electrostatic painting machine of which the number of rotations is 10000-50000 rpm, a paint film free from irregularity, wherein mica pigment is formed in a uniform layered state, is obtained. The clear paint of a final finishing third layer is applied so as to set a film thickness after baking to 10.50mum and baked.
