NEW MATERIAL:Monoazo dyes of formula I, wherein X is hydrogen, chlorine, bromine, methyl, alkoxy, nitro, cyano; R is a 6-13C alkyl, a 1-8C alkoxyethyl, a 1-4C alkoxyethoxyethyl, etc.; K is a group of formula II or III; V is H, chlorine, methyl, methoxy, etc., W is H, chlorine, methyl, alkoxy, alkoxyalkoxy; R<1>, R<2> are each H, a 1-10C alkyl, aryl, alkenyl, etc.; R<3>, R<4>, R<5> are each H, methyl. USE:Monoazo dyes which dye polyester fiber, cotton and wool color with excellent fastness to light and particularly antistatic finished or water-repellent finished fibers with excellent fastness to moisture such as washing and water. PREPARATION:An amine of formula IV is diazotized and then coupled with a compd. of formula V to obtain the monoazo dye of formula I.
