PURPOSE:To improve thermal sensitivity and to obtain excellent image stability and storage stability under a high temp. and high humidity environment, by using a compound having a specific alkylene group as a coupler while providing an under coat layer containing an alkane compound. CONSTITUTION:In a thermal recording material wherein a thermal color forming layer based on a leuco dye and a coupler is provided on a support, a compound represented by general formula ( I ) (wherein X is an alkylene group having at least one ether bond) is used as a coupler and an under coat layer containing an 1-8C alkane compound having three substituents each represented by general formula (II) (wherein R is hydrogen or a lower alkyl group) is provided between the support and the thermal color forming layer so as to be adjacent to said thermal color forming layer. By this method, the thermal recording material excellent in thermal sensitivity and having good image stability and storage stability is obtained. |
