Compositions of solvents and heat-generating fluids for absorption heating or cooling equipment. The compositions according to the invention contain a chlorofluorohydrocarbon with a boiling point of between -40 and +50 DEG C and at least one solvent with a boiling point above 100 DEG C, chosen from the compounds of formula: <IMAGE> in which m is equal to 1, 2 or 3, x is an integer ranging from 0 to 4, n is an integer ranging from 1 to 4 and X denotes a hydrogen, chlorine or iodine atom.
