PURPOSE:To aim at making a semisubmerged type floating structure lightweight, by coupling lower hulls on the port and starboard sides of the semi-submerged type floating structure with transverse pontoons to eliminate reinforcing bracings for column sections. CONSTITUTION:In a semi-submerged type floating structure in which a deck section 3 is coupled to lower hulls 1A, 1B by means of columns 2, the lower hulls 1A, 1B on the port and starboard sides of the structure are coupled together by means of transverse pontoons 5. With this arrangement hitherto used reinforcing bracings for the column sections may be eliminated, and there fore it is possible to aim at making the deck section which is firm against external force, light-weight.
