PURPOSE:To hold sealability without generating positional shift to a filter plate, by integrally providing a soft elastic tight seal body to the part of filter cloth corresponding to the tight clamp part of a filter plate in a ring shape through an adhesive. CONSTITUTION:A filter press is opened to a predetermined degree by a hydraulic jack and filter cloths 8, 8 are interposed between a filter plate 22 and a filter frame 3 to open the filter press. In solid-liquid separation, ring shaped tight seal bodies 13 made of silicone rubber are integrally provided to the parts corresponding to the tight seal parts 11, 11' of the filter plates 2, 2 and the filter frame 3 clamped from both sides thereof by the filter cloths 8 and O-rings 12 are tightly clamped and pressed thereto under pressure to perform sure sealing. When a slurry is introduced from the liquid feed hole of the filter frame 3 under pressure to perform solid-liquid separation, the liquid component is exuded from the filter cloth 8 and drained from the drain hole of the filter plate 2 while a cake remains between the filter cloths 8, 8.
