PURPOSE:To prevent the sticking of marine life such as shellfishes and algae on an oceal structure by attaching a stain-proof metallic material in insulation to the part near the water line of the ocean structure, attaching an electrode in insulation to the bottom end thereof and connecting the stain-proof metallic material as an anode and the electrode at the bottom end as a cathode to a DC power source. CONSTITUTION:The highly stain-proof metallic material 2 consisting of Cu or Cu alloy is attached to the part near the water line of the ocean structure 1 such as ship by means of an insulating adhesive agent 2 in insulation from the structure 1. The electrode 4 is attached, in insulation from the hull 1, to the keel part of the ship bottom and hull by means of an insulating adhesive agent 3. The material 2 as the anode and the electrode 4 as the cathode are connected respectively by conductors 6, 7 to the DC power source 5. The Cu of the highly stain-proof metal elutes in the sea water and the Cu ions provide the stain-proof effect by covering the submerged part of the hull, thus preventing effectively the sticking to the hull marine life such as shellfishes and algae.
