PURPOSE:To reduce the size of a fluorescent display tube with high luminance by installing several sets of phosphor trios facing corresponding electrode units and specifying the structure of a member supporting three cathodes in the electrode unit. CONSTITUTION:Several sets of phosphor trios 12a-12h each consisting of a red, a blue and a green phosphor layer 14 are installed on the inner surface of the front panel 11A of a glass box 11. Electrode units 13a-13h each consisting of three cathodes (K), a first (G1) and a second grid (G2) are installed in the glass box 11 in such a manner as to face the phosphor trios 12a-12h. The cathode structure is made by fitting the central and the side terminals of each of supporting pieces 20a and 20b into the penetrating holes 82 of a base 19; each of the pieces 20a and 20b has sections 84 supporting the cathode wires (K). By the means mentioned above, the cathode structure can be easily assembled in a small size. |
