PURPOSE:To obtain the titled copolymer of narrow molecular weight distribution with sharp endothermic peak at the melting point, by copolymerization between ethylene and alpha-olefin, etc., using a catalyst consisting of a chromium compound and organo-aluminum compound each expressed by specific formula. CONSTITUTION:The objective copolymer can be obtained by copolymerization, through solution polymerization etc., between ethylene and an alpha-olefin (e.g., propylene) or said two monomers and a nonconjugated diene (e.g., dicyclopentadiene) using a catalytic solution incorporated with (A) a chromium compound of formula I (R' is 6-30C alkyl residue)(e.g., chromium stearate) and (B) an organoaluminum compound of formula II (R<2> is 1-12C alkyl residue; X is halogen; n satisfies the equation; 1<=n...3) usable as Modifier, etc.
