PURPOSE:To obtain an air cleaner excellent in the sterilizing effect by forming the electrodes in the both end faces of apertures of zeolite which has a honeycomb structure and is stuck with the sterilizable metal to the insides of small holes. CONSTITUTION:Zeolite forming a honeycomb structural body 1 has the porous properties wherein the numberless small holes are provided and the metal ions such as Ag and Cu having the sterilizing effect are stuck to the small holes by the ion exchange. The electrodes 3, 3' are formed in both end faces of aperture parts of the honeycomb structural body 1. By this method, when DC high voltage is impressed on the electrodes, the bacilli such as bacteria and virus in air are easily removed.
