PURPOSE:To enhance cooling effect, by providing a chember in the center of the gland area of an inner casing and connecting this chamber to an external steam line under low pressure. CONSTITUTION:A chamber 14 is provided in the center of the gland area of the inner casing 3 of a double-casing turbine, and this chamber 14 is connected, via a steam pipe 15, to an external steam line at a pressure lower than the pressure in a space 13 formed by an outer casing 1 and an inner casing 3. Thus, high temperature steam leaking through the gland area is prevented from entering the space 13, while the exhaust steam at a low temperature is guided to flow in the space 13 so as to cool the outer casing 1, while the temperature inside the space 13 being maintained at the temperature of the exhaust. |
